O.M.G

Those crazy Lunn kids
Hilary is home from school sick today, I ran into Sobeys (grocery store) to pick up hamburger for Tacos for supper. ANyway, we went up to the cashier and....

Hilary "I really love your hair, it is really pretty"
Cashier "OMG, thank you, you just made my day!"
Hilary smiles "your welcome!"

THEN turns to me and says " Mommy, I only said that because it is rude to tell someone their hair is ugly when it looks like that"

Right in front of the lady. Guess we need to talk a little more about being rude. She almost has it though!

New House!!!

Those crazy Lunn kids

I finally have a more than a few seconds to sit and type, woohoo.

We got posession of the house last Thursday. We had the keys at 10 in the morning and the couple were supposed to be out by then. We came to do our last inspection with our agent and they didn't even start packing up yet. They have not lived here for a few months, but there was still things in the closets, washer dryer, beds, sofa, tables, everything was still here. They were just starting to get it packed up.

We had 5 friends coming to help Steve lay floors at 11, they had to empty the rooms to the moving truck and then lay the floors around this couple. It was horrible. They are a very very very religious family too, so I kept reminding the men to not swear. Steve snuck beer up to the in the rooms while they were laying the floor. It was like a teenager sneaking beer into the house.

They ended up not leaving until 930 that night. Mr. Harvie (the old owner) lived here for 42 years. It was really hard for him to leave the house, but.......he's been back 3 times since then! LOL!

The weekend that we moved was a HUGE hockey tournament for Mike. They played 6 games of hockey plus we moved. Thank god for my family and friends.

We moved everything over on Saturday. I went to hockey with the kids at 730am and we got home at 1030 and the old house was empty and the new house full. They had the bed set up and the boxes all in the correct rooms. It was great. They had even clean some of the old house for me.

Saturday night was LONG. Zac and Hilary had a hard time sleeping in their own rooms, they were used to sleeping together and it was a different house, so we, no, I was up with them most of the night, but that was the only bad night so far. I think they are all settled now.

Sunday we unpacked and set things up in the house, it was fun!

Monday the kids went back to school, Steve and I went and clean the rest of the odds and ends out of the old house. I came home after school, but Steve stayed until 6 that night. Mike and Jake had drum and guitar lessons, and Sparks for Hilary. After that we got them settled and then Steve and I went back over to the old house to wash the walls, floors, ect.

We walked into the house and there was glass everywhere. Some little asshole threw a rock through the front picture window of the old house during the 3 hours we were gone. No problems in 10 years living there, and this happens the 2 days before closing. 1000.00 dollars later it is fixed and we are broke! LOL!

On Tuesday, my sister and I went back to clean what Steve and I were going to do the night before, but didn't get to. We cleaned for 5 hours that day. You could have eaten off the floor. Anyway, the guy that bought the house wanted to get in earlier than the time on the contract (12 noon on Wednesday). We agreed since we were out and everything was cleaned up that he could get the keys Wednesday morning at 9. We had rushed to get it all ready early for him, left a bunch of extra stuff we bought specifically for the house (special stuff for cleaning the chimney, cleaner for the wood stove, just little things like that)

Anyway, Tuesday night he does the inspection and at 1030 that night, our agent calls us. He denied the inspection because there was 2 cob webs on the furnace light fixture down in the basement. I had to go over and clean the 2 cob webs off of the light. Can you believe that? 11:00 at night and I am getting dressed so this ass can have the house early and with out 2 cob webs on the BASEMENT light fixture.

So, because he was being petty, I got up on Wednesday morning, called our lawyer and told her to make sure he DID NOT get those keys before 12 noon. I told her what happened and she said she'd be sure to keep the keys until noon and that there "might even be a problem with the paper work and he not get they keys until a little later".

Anyway, things are all good now. We are done with that house. We LOVE LOVE LOVE our new house. It is almost twice the size of our other house. The kids love having their own rooms. I love that the rooms are up stairs, away from the front door and the tv. The go to sleep faster and sleep better! My laundry room is on the main floor, LOVE that! There are 3 bathrooms, we only had 1 for 6 people before. We go pee in another bathroom while whenever some goes in to pee, just because we can. LOL!

Although our house is alot bigger, that doesn't stop us all from tripping over each other. The kids still follow me around. It seems like we are all attached at the hip sometimes. We all just move from room to room together. It is actually quite sad, LOL!!!!
